Hand wash recommended.
Wool hats are delicate items that require hand washing. Fill a basin with lukewarm water (maximum 30°C) and a small amount of gentle wool detergent. Submerge the hat and gently squeeze it in the water without rubbing or wringing it, to avoid felting or deforming the fiber. Then rinse with clean water, proceeding with the same gentleness.
Precautions for preserving wool.
Avoid hot water, tumble drying, fabric softener, and any harsh chemicals. If small stains appear between washes, you can spot-clean them with a slightly damp cloth and mild soap. To restore the look and volume of your hat, simply air it after washing.
Dry flat in the shade.
After washing, never wring the hat. Gently squeeze it between two clean towels to remove excess water, then let it dry flat in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and any heat source. This helps maintain its original shape, flexibility, and softness. Once dry, you can gently shake or straighten the hat to restore its volume.
