How do you clean your balaclava?

Hand washing recommended.

Wool balaclavas are delicate items that require hand washing. Fill a basin with lukewarm water (maximum 30°C) and a small amount of mild wool detergent. Submerge the balaclava and gently press it into the water without rubbing or wringing, to avoid felting or misshaping the fiber. Then, rinse in clean water, handling it with the same care.

Precautions for caring for wool.

Avoid hot water, tumble drying, fabric softener, and harsh chemicals. If small stains appear between washes, you can spot-clean them using a slightly damp cloth and mild soap. To restore your balaclava's shape and volume, simply air it out after washing.

Drying.

After washing, never wring out the balaclava. Gently press it between two clean towels to remove excess water, then lay it flat to dry in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. This helps preserve its original shape, suppleness, and softness. Once dry, you can lightly shake or reshape the balaclava to restore its volume.
